CKU and Our Empty Nest!

I was away at CKU in Chicago last week for 4 days of scrapbooking with Val and Sandy. It is so funny how time just flies by when you are scrapbooking. The best thing that happened was my friend Val, who has been talking about a little scrapbook tool called The Slice ever since she saw it demonstrated at CHA, actually won it at CKU! On the way there she was even trying to talk us all into buying one together when they come out this summer. They will sell for about $150 and then the discs are extra. Anyway, in our album class, Margie Romney-Aslett, our scrapbook designer instructor, pulled Val's name out of the tickets. Needless to say, Val was thrilled! It was like it was just meant to be.
When I left for Chicago I knew that Mitch was moving out that weekend and I would be coming home to Rob and our empty nest. I decided to look at it as a new chapter in my life. And Mitch said he would stop by a lot, and offered to still help with some chores around here. So, of course we miss having hime here, but it was time for him to be on his own. It is a little quieter around here though. He is pretty busy with work and college, but I know he will be here sometimes because his motorcycle is here!

Sunday Race Results

It was Joel's turn to take a tumble during the race today, but he is okay! The team ended up in 4th place in the Lincoln 500 enduro race. Another race season ended, everyone is safe at home.

Lincoln Racing

Well, I received a phone call earlier with race results from Lincoln. There was good news and bad news. Joel won both of his races and won the season championship! Mitch came in second in his races, but still was able to win the championship for his classes, as well. So then Rob tells me that Mitch had an accident but he is okay, just banged up a little!? I asked him if they had to take him to the hospital and he said, " heck no, we made him race!" So, I am feeling very grateful that it wasn't any worse than it is, and I think I will be relieved when the last race tomorrow is over, after they win it of course! It has been a long winter, and a long race season, and I am ready for spring!

Happy Birthday, Bryce!

Bryce Nicholas Diamond was born on March 1, 2004

Bryce is 4 years old! He celebrated his birthday with a bowling party at Gerlach's Bowling Center. Bryce likes to ride his motorcycle. He loves it when Uncle Mitch comes home early and gives him rides on his big motorcycle and teaches him how to shift. He also likes to ride around in the golf cart with Grandma, and they drive it through the gnome path and sometimes over one of the small motorcycle jumps! (don't tell Grandpa!) In the summertime he likes to go around the pond and count all the frogs. Bryce likes to put puzzles together, and his favorite Nascar driver is Jimmie Johnson. Bryce is a fun boy to be with, and we sure love him a lot!
